Today, students are jumping into our new unit on Molecular Biology. We will be learning all about cells, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and cell division. Students received their new set of vocab words today (see below for the list). These words will be due on Monday the 9th and they should be studying them because there will be a quiz on these words that day as well.
To start the unit off today, students were required to read THIS article (courtesy of https://sciencewithmsbarton.wordpress.com/) . While reading students were to write down any words they did not know and define them on a separate sheet of paper. Then they were required to answer the questions at the end of the article in their science notebooks. This unit tends to be a difficult one for students to grasp so it is imperative that you are studying at home every night in order to be successful with this unit. Hopefully we can come out on top for our next benchmark! NEW VOCAB WORDS cell membrane cell wall nucleus chloroplast mitochondria ribosome cytoplasm prokaryote eukaryote organelle mitosis meiosis
