Hey there everyone! I hope you have all had a great week so far! Tuesday and Wednesday students took some notes on evolution, natural selection, and more. They worked really hard and I was impressed with the great class discussions we had in each class and all of the awesome questions students were asking. You can find the PowerPoint I adapted for my class HERE. You can also grab a copy of the fill-in-the-blank notes the students used for their interactive notebooks HERE.
Today and tomorrow students will be working in groups to complete a WebQuest on the evidence for evolution on the PBS website. You can find that website HERE. Don't forget about your vocabulary words that are due on Monday. You also have a quiz that day on those words. Have a great rest of the week!

Hey there everyone!!! We are back at it here in science class after I was out for a couple of days at the state science conference in Winston-Salem. This week we are starting our new unit on Evolution and Genetics. We have an entire set of new vocab words this week that will be due next week on Monday the 24th. We will also have a quiz that day over these words and their definitions. See below for the list of words. Today in class, we kicked off our evolution unit by learning a bit about Darwin and his voyage around the world. Students used a "webquest" site from PBS and worked in class to complete the assignment. Curious about this assignment or out absent? Click HERE to check it out. Tomorrow we will be taking some notes on Darwin and evolution/natural selection. Check back tomorrow for a link to that PowerPoint and the fill-in-the-blank notes for your interactive notebooks.
